Reflecting on My Time in Physical Therapy Clinics
Working in physical therapy clinics was a pivotal chapter in my life. It wasn’t just about clocking in and out; it was about learning, growing, and finding my path. Here’s what stuck with me:
1. Bringing Anatomy and Physiology to Life:
Those classroom lessons came alive in the clinic. I got to see firsthand how the human body works and how what I learned in school directly impacted patient care.
2. Connecting with People from All Walks of Life:
I had the chance to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, each with their own story. This taught me the importance of empathy and effective communication.
3. Learning from the Best:
Watching skilled physical therapists at work was inspiring. I was lucky enough to observe and learn from professionals in a field I was passionate about.
4. The Power of Teamwork:
Collaborating with physical therapists and other clinical assistants made me realize how crucial teamwork is in healthcare. We were all there for the same purpose: to help people heal and improve their lives.
5. Broadening My True Calling in Health and Wellness:
Working closely with patients and seeing the direct impact of physical therapy broadened my passion for health and wellness. This experience inspired me to explore how I could contribute on a larger scale, eventually leading me to public health, where I could combine my love for physical health with a focus on improving overall community well-being.
